A.I.R.
Show
Jumping was created to provide a competitive jumper series in the
Capital District which would serve as a stepping stone between the local and
large 'A' show jumper ring. The staff at A.I.R. Show Jumping aim to provide a
safe, quality show series where beginners, both riders and horses, can
experience the challenge and fun of jumpers at a low cost and
in a friendly atmosphere. For those with more experience in the show
ring, we offer top quality courses and prize money.
Offering divisions for all levels including: Beginner Crossrails, Baby Jumper 2'-2'3, Puddle Jumper 2'6-2'9, Ch/Adult Low 3'0, Ch/Adult High 3'3-3'6.
Since we love receiving prizes ourselves, we looked for additional ways to reward our competitors.
In 2008 we introduced the A.I.R. Show Jumping Equitation Challenge recognizing those riders who not only rode against the clock in the main ring but also stylishly navigated the course. Prizes for the Challenge are given both within the division and as an overall high point award at the end of the day. Originally created for the October 5, 2008 show to help riders practice for the upcoming CDH/JC Equitation Finals, the Challenge is going to continue to be a fixture at all future A.I.R. Show Jumping Events.
To promote horsemanship, there is a Best Turned Out Award given to the rider and horse combination who are the best example of a clean, conservative jumper turnout of both horse AND rider. While wearing a hunt coat or expensive attire will not guarantee the award, a shiny horse and gleaming tack will definitely get the attention of the judges. All horse/rider combinations are automatically entered upon receipt of an entry number with no additional cost.
